Collection: Dana Diesendorf
Dana was born in Germany and at the age of 18 found her home in Barcelona where she later graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona. Since moving to Spain, she has lived a transformative experience that has deeply influenced her life and art.
As a northern artist who adapts to the vibrant colors and rich essence of the south, her work has evolved to become more vivid, expressive and festive. Her paintings live a celebration of spring, allowing the viewer to associate different shapes, patterns and colors with natural elements. The expressive, flourishing lines and their movement mesmerize and open up to intertwine and connect with each other. The size allows the viewer to immerse themselves in the painting, to lose themselves in it, to experience it and to truly feel the ecstatic sensations of the colors. Each piece reflects an optimism and joy that reflects the anticipation of the arrival of spring.
Inspired by artists such as Joan Mitchell and Cecily Brown, she combines abstraction and figuration to infuse her work with energy and movement. Her artistic process is deeply physical, interacting with the canvas using her entire body to create spontaneous and expressive compositions.
